MEET Yakira Rosa

BASKETBALL COACH

Yakira Rosa is the Director of Basketball for our Girls AAU Basketball programs she proudly represented throughout her youth, bringing a meaningful full-circle perspective to the organization. She also serves as the Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach at Ramsey High School, where she leads the program with an emphasis on player development, accountability, teamwork, and a strong basketball foundation.

A former four-year starting point guard at William Paterson University, Yakira built her playing career on leadership, basketball IQ, competitiveness, and a team-first mentality—qualities that continue to shape her approach as a coach and basketball professional.

Following her collegiate playing career, Yakira transitioned into coaching at the college level, first serving on the staff at FDU Florham before joining Rider University. At Rider, she worked as the Director of Basketball Operations and a fourth assistant coach at the Division I level, gaining extensive experience in program operations, recruiting, scouting, player development, practice preparation, and day-to-day team management.

In addition to her high school, collegiate, and AAU experience, Yakira provides private basketball training and strength and conditioning coaching for athletes of all ages and skill levels. She has worked with youth, high school, collegiate, and professional players, giving her a comprehensive understanding of long-term athlete development and the demands athletes face at every stage of the game.

With a strong foundation as both a player and coach, Yakira brings passion, organization, leadership, and a deep knowledge of basketball to every role she holds.
